The spring season is coming soon. March 21 marked the official start of spring, but if you live in Montreal like me, you might have to wait a bit longer. Even if I have to wait a bit longer, I always love to be prepared and have my items ready when the weather really starts to change. Since I am trying to be more intentional with my purchases, I went through my photos to see what I always seem to gravitate towards as the weather shifts into spring. I have discovered the five spring wardrobe items that I wear over and over again.
These items are wardrobe classics for many, but if you’re looking for a refresh or upgrade, I’ll share a few good options.
Trench coats
Once worn by Great War soldiers, the trench coat is now the ultimate style staple and one of my true wardrobe heroes. I live in Montreal but grew up in Amsterdam, where spring is rainy, and a waterproof trench coat is essential. Burberry is among the most famous trench coat brands, but the high street also offers great options. I have a classic one from here, and a blue one from here. I also enjoy modern, shorter, hip-length versions.

Leather jacket
There was a time when leather jackets were seen on every content creator’s feed. I must say I see them less nowadays. Leather jackets may be considered less trendy right now, but to me, they are definitely amongst my five spring wardrobe items I wear over and over again.

I believe in investing in a good one so that it will get some great wear and tear over time. This is exactly the character you want your leather jacket to build. The wear on that jacket will make it so authentic to you. Call me crazy, but sometimes jackets have a story to tell. One of my favorite leather jackets has some awesome memories from my twenties, and I traveled to many countries with it. What I love about a leather jacket is that I can wear it in spring and fall. The leather jacket always gives my outfit the bit of edge I need. Pair it with booties, sneakers, or ballet flats. A super girly dress. I love a good leather jacket.
Light wash denim
Ever since I left the corporate world, I have developed a wild appreciation for denim. Give me all the denim. From only being able to wear a good pair of denim on the weekends, I now wear it constantly. When spring is near, I love switching from dark-wash to light-wash denim. Since I started tracking what I wear on Indyx ( I promise you I will do a dedicated post about that journey). I love a good barrel denim or just simple straight with a bit of stretch. Love pairing them with lighter shoes and bags.
Ballet Flats

I have mentioned them a few times already in this blog post, but the spring wardrobe item I wear over and over again must be my ballet flats. Ballet flats are just so comfortable, and in my opinion, they make an outfit look so good. Â My feed is full of Chanel ballet flats right now, and I absolutely love Chanel ballet flats as they are classic and timeless. There are other, more affordable options with great quality as well. I mentioned Sarah Flint ballet flats in this post before.Â
Sunglasses
Ok, I wear sunglasses year-round because even in the frigid weather, we still have sun. The only change is that I switch to funkier or more colourful sunglasses when spring is here. My favourite sunglasses brand is Celine, as I mentioned here. I am a bit on ban island now, but I have seen so many that I would love to add this coming spring.
These are my five spring wardrobe items I would wear over and over again. Do you have any of these items in your list? Which ones would you wear year after year?
Thank you so much for reading.
